On September 29, 2007 Anne, Mary and I(Brynne Emery) visited America's largest home. We visited the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. The Biltmore House is a French Renaissance-inspired chateau built by George Washington Vanderbilt II between 1888 and 1895. It is the largest privately-owned home in the United States, at 175,000 square feet. The Biltmore House has a total of 250 rooms! Still owned by Vanderbilt's descendants, it stands today as one of the most prominent remaining examples of the Gilded Age. The latitude coordinate is 35.600 North and the longitude coordinate is -82.544 West. Anne and Mary traveled 988.18 miles to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina by automobile. To date, Anne and Mary have traveled a total of 1712.46 miles! They are very eager to go on their next trip!
