Anne Visits Cahokia Mounds!

On Saturday, September 15,2007, Anne visited the Cahokia Mounds historical site, Woodhenge, and the Interpretive Center in Collinsville, Illinois. We visited a large mound, but were unable to go to the top, due to construction. There was a reconstruction of Woodhenge, which are large wooden posts placed in the ground in a circle, and the Interpretive Center (information center for Cahokia Mounds) was across the street. The latitude coordinate for Cahokia Mounds is 36 degrees 39 minutes 14 seconds north. The longitute coordinate is 90 degrees 3 minutes 43 seconds west. The two dogs, a friend of mine, and I traveled in my car and made it safely back to the Wham building! According to mapquest we traveled 130.14 miles to Cahokia Mounds making the total trip 260.28 miles. If the Cahokia trip is added along with Anne's two other trips the total amount for her is 724.28 miles.

Anne Bonny Visits Christopher

Christopher Memorial
9-18-07

I took Anne and Mary to Christopher, IL, which is 28 miles south from Carbondale. The memorial is dedicated to the veterans, prisoners of war, and missing in action soldiers of World War I & II, Korean Conflict, and Vietnam War. I drove there in my car, which would be a total of 56 miles there and back from SIU. The coordinates are: Latitude of 37 degress 58' 21", Longitude of -89 degrees 3' 12".
